Tucson, AZ – The City of Tucson is conducting an analysis of current broadband availability throughout the City, the potential need for a Citywide wireless broadband network, and the optimal configuration of a Citywide network. The City tentatively plans to issue a Request for Proposals for a wireless broadband provider, depending on the results of the study. Columbia Telecommunications Corporation (CTC) serves as the City’s consultant and is preparing the study.
“CTC is pleased to have been selected to assist the City of Tucson as it examines the options for wireless connectivity,” stated Joanne Hovis, CTC’s President. “The potential for Tucson to meet digital inclusion goals and objectives for the community are of particular interest.”
